How to Get More Berries on Pokemon Sapphire Version

If your Berry plants have inexplicably stopped growing and producing fruit in your game of "Pokemon Sapphire," your copy still has what is known as the "Berry Glitch" or "Time Glitch." Unlike most glitches found in Pokemon games, which are generally beneficial to the player, the Berry Glitch prevents time-based events from occurring, including Berry Plant growth. Fortunately, there is a patch you can download to your "Pokemon Sapphire" game cartridge by linking it to the later Pokemon game versions so that you can get more berries.

Things You'll Need

  • GBA Link Cable
  • GameCube
  • GBA/GameCube Link Cable

Instructions

  1. FireRed/LeafGreen Method

    • 1

Load a copy of "Pokemon FireRed" or "Pokemon LeafGreen" into your GBA. Power it on and press "Select" and "B" together at the title screen. Press "A" to confirm.

    • 2

Load a copy of "Pokemon Sapphire" into a second GBA and turn the system on.

    • 3

Connect the two GBAs using a GBA Link Cable so that the console with "Pokemon FireRed" or "Pokemon LeafGreen" is Player 1 and the one with "Pokemon Sapphire" is Player 2.

    • 4

Press "Start" and "Select" at the title screen for "Pokemon Sapphire" to transfer the patch to fix the Berry Glitch.

    GameCube Method

    • 5

Load a copy of "Pokemon Colosseum," the "Pokemon Colosseum" Bonus Disk or "Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness" into your GameCube and turn it on. Go to a Trade Center and speak with the person at the desk to initiate a trade between the GameCube and a GBA.

    • 6

Load your copy of "Pokemon Sapphire" into the GBA and power it on. Connect the GBA to your GameCube using a GBA/GameCube Link Cable.

    • 7

Wait for the GameCube to recognize your GBA; the patch to fix the Berry Glitch will be automatically downloaded to "Pokemon Sapphire."
