How to Get a Red Magic Flower in Harvest Moon

The 2005 Game Boy Advance game "Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town" -- playable on the Nintendo DS -- features a female farmer on her quest to run a profitable farm and marry her choice of local bachelor. The red magic flower is an elusive crop that rejuvenates lost energy when ingested. You grow the red magic flower on your farm, but you won't find any red magic flower seeds for sale in the game. In actuality, the crop is a rare mutation of the common fall crop magic grass that randomly generates when you plant the crop.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase magic grass seeds at Won's seed shop or Zack's home. You can buy magic grass seeds from either Won or Zack in the fall. Bags of seeds cost 600G. You can get nine plants from one bag. To increase your chances of growing a red flower, buy as many magic grass seeds as you can plant.

    • 2

Plant magic grass seeds during the fall. Magic grass seeds grow only during the 30 days of fall and take nine days to grow, so make the most of your farmland each day if you hope to grow red magic flowers.

    • 3

Try a cheat. The majority of your magic grass seeds will grow into blue flowers. While you can plant these seeds and hope for the best, there is a trick you can try to assure that you'll get at least one red magic flower. Save before you plant your seeds. Plant all of your seeds and then open your farm map on the status menu. Notice whether or not there are any red flower pictures where you just planted your seeds. If there are, that seed will become a red magic flower. If not, restart the game, plant the seeds again and check the map again.

Water the seeds each day. You must not skip any days watering the magic grass seeds or it will take an additional day for your plants to grow. When it rains, you don't need to use your watering can on the seeds as the rain will provide adequate moisture.
