How to Find Cradily in Sapphire

Cradily is a rock- and grass-type Pokemon found in the Nintendo Game Boy Advance title "Pokemon Sapphire." To obtain a Cradily in this game, players have to first find its unevolved form Lileep and then play until it transforms. Cradily has the appearance of a plant with eight tentacles extending from its head. The Lileep that it evolves from cannot be captured in the game and must instead be revived from an object known as a "root fossil."

Instructions

    • 1

Defeat Flannery, the trainer at Lavaridge Town Gym, then exit the gym. Your neighbor appears and hands you the "Go-goggles" which allow you to enter the desert area that was previously inaccessible.

    • 2

Head to Route 11 and enter the desert. Make your way to the northeast section (upper right) of this area to find two fossils. Stand in front of the fossil on the left and pick it up. This is the root fossil and as soon as you have it, the other fossil will sink into the ground. There is no way to acquire both.

    • 3

Travel to Rustboro City and enter the Devon Corporation. Go up to the second floor and speak to the scientist standing there. He will take the root fossil and tell you to come back later.

    • 4

Leave the building, then come back and speak to him again to receive a Lileep.

    • 5

Keep fighting battles with the Lileep in your party in order for it to gain experience and level up. Once Lileep reaches level 40, it will evolve into a Cradily.
