"Pokemon Gold" featured 251 Pokemon to capture, two new adventures and over 60 hours of gameplay. To capture the Pokemon, you have several types of Pokeballs at your disposal. Choosing the right ball for the task will help you capture Pokemon easily.
  1. More About "Pokemon Gold"

    • "Pokemon Gold" was released on October 14, 2000, for the Game Boy Color handheld system. The game takes place three years after Ash Ketchum, the previous game's protagonist, became a Pokemon master. Since then, the entire world of Pokemon has drastically changed. New Pokemon trainers and training gyms have sprouted, and new species of Pokemon have been discovered. You take on the role of a new want-to-be Pokemon master as he begins his quest. "Pokemon Gold" features multiple branching paths, hundreds of new moves to learn and hundreds of trainers to battle.

    Pokeballs That Cost Money

    • There are three Pokeballs in the game that you can to purchase from a store clerk at virtually any store in the game -- Regular Pokeball, Great Pokeball and Ultra Pokeball. Each of these balls can store only one Pokemon at a time. The differences is in the chance with which they can capture Pokemon. A Regular Pokeball costs $200 and is perfect for Pokemon during the early game. Great Pokeballs significantly increase the chance of capturing a Pokemon and are great for tough battles midgame; they cost $600. The most expensive Pokeball is the Ultra Pokeball, costing $1,200. Because of its high cost, reserve this ball for the hardest battles in the game and capturing the most challenging Pokemon since it gives you the best chance of successful capture.
