How Do You Change the Personality of Your Pokemon in FireRed?

"Pokémon FireRed" introduced a brand-new 32-bit integer in Pokémon you can catch in-game: personality. This gives each Pokémon a personality trait, such as adamant, modest, jolly, lax or docile. These personalities are randomly generated and can offer a bonus or subtraction to your Pokémon's attack, defense, speed, special attack and special defense stats. Evolving it is the only way to generate a new personality for your Pokémon.

Instructions

     Put your Pokémon in the front of your lineup. Press "Start," select "Pkmn" and move your Pokémon to the top of the list.

     Walk around in tall grass or in caves until a wild Pokémon attacks your party.

   • 3

     Fight the Pokémon as normal to earn experience points toward the next level.

   • 4

     Repeat steps 2 and 3 until your Pokémon levels to the level it needs to evolve. (This level will vary for each species of Pokémon.)
