How to Evolve Kadabra in Emerald

Kadabra is the second evolutionary form in the Alakazam line. In "Pokemon Emerald," you cannot catch Kadabra directly in the wild, instead, you must catch Abra and evolve it into Kadabra. Kadabra only evolves into its higher form, Alakazam, when traded between games. Alakazam has the highest Special Attack value of any non-legendary Pokemon. The Alakazam evolutionary line has been featured in every version of Pokemon games, and it is arguably one of the most famous psychic-type Pokemon.

     Catch a wild Abra on Route 116 and Granite Cave.

     Evolve Abra into Kadabra by leveling Abra to Level 16.

   • 3

     Connect to another player using a game link cable or the wireless adapter that came with the game.

   • 4

     Trade Kadabra to the other game. He evolves into Alakazam once the trade is complete.
