How to Catch a Scyther in Pokemon Yellow

"Pokemon Yellow" is a re-issue of the "Pokemon Red" and "Pokemon Blue" versions, featuring a new storyline based on the Pokemon television series. Although the storyline is different, "Pokemon Yellow" still includes the original Pokemon from the previous versions. Scyther is one of the original Pokemon that can only be found at the Safari Zone in Fuchsia City.

Instructions

- 1
  Fly to Fuchsia City and enter the Safari Zone in the northernmost part of the city. Pay 500 Pokedollars to enter. You will receive 30 Safari Balls to catch wild Pokemon.

  Walk through the entrance area to Area 1. Scyther can only be caught in Area 1 and Area 2 of the Safari Zone.

  Walk around tall grass in Area 1 or Area 2 to encounter wild Pokemon. If you do not encounter Scyther, select "Run" and continue exploring the tall grass until a wild Scyther appears.

  Throw a Safari Ball to catch the wild Scyther. You may also select "Bait" to keep Scyther from running away, but it will be harder to catch. Selecting "Throw a rock" will make it easier to catch, but also make it more prone to running away.

  Repeat steps 3 and 4 if Scyther runs away. When you encounter Scyther again, keep throwing Safari Balls until you capture it.
