How to Kill Legendary Dogs in Crystal

While most Pokemon Trainers want to capture the legendary trio of dogs in "Pokemon Crystal," you knock them out to prevent them from popping up randomly during the adventure. Once you complete the story based quest in the Burnt Tower that releases Entei, Suicune and Raikou into the wild, they roam the Johto region freely. If you are in the same area that one of the legends is currently in, the legendary dogs may interrupt your quest with a sudden attack. By defeating these three monsters in battle, they never bother you again.

Instructions

    • 1

Track Suicune, Entei and Raikou's current location using the Pokedex. Select the legend you wish to hunt down and scroll to the "Area" section of the Pokedex. Its current location is noted by a flashing red dot on the map. Quickly have a Pokemon use Fly to transport you to a nearby city and run there as fast as possible.

    • 2

Walk in tall grass where the Pokedex tracker indicated the legendary dog is. While normal wild Pokemon show up most of the time in these areas, the legend you are tracking is likely to show up eventually.

    • 3

Prevent the legendary dog from running away with special trapping moves. Instantly running away is a common tactic for these creatures, so have one of your Pokemon learn an attack that makes escape impossible such as Spider Web or Mean Look.

    • 4

Plan your Pokemon Team around your quarry by picking and choosing team members best suited for the job. Bring along Pokemon that know powerful elemental attacks that the legend you are hunting can't handle. Entei is a Fire type Pokemon that is naturally weak to Water, Rock and Ground attacks. Electric type Raikou crumbles when attacked with Ground moves. Suicune won't fare well when slammed with strong Electric or Grass type moves. Knock out these legendary dogs, and they will not reappear in the wild in "Pokemon Crystal."
