How to Get Groudon & Kyogre Into a Fight

"Groudon" and "Kyogre" are two legendary creatures found in the game "Pokemon Emerald" for the Nintendo Gameboy Advance. Grouden is a large red Pokemon that resembles Godzilla, while Kyogre is a large blue Pokemon with whale-like features. Grouden is featured on the box cover of "Pokemon Ruby," while Kyogre appears on the box of "Pokemon Sapphire." While playing through "Pokemon Emerald," players can witness a battle between these two archrivals by following the correct steps.

  Play the game until you are able to take on the "Mossdeep City" gym leaders. The leaders, Liza and Tate, have Pokemon that are levels 41 to 42, so make sure your group is powerful enough to take them on.

  Go to the Space Center after you have defeated the Mossdeep City gym leaders. You will encounter Team Magma trying to steal some rocket fuel. Defeat all the grunts in battle before talking to Steven.

  Save your game then talk to Steven again. Answer "Yes" when he asks you if you are going to help him in battle. When you win the battle, Steven thanks you and tells you to come visit him at his house for a reward.

  Travel to the house northwest of the Pokemon center to receive "HM Dive" from Steven. With this technique, you can dive in patches of water that are darker than the ones surrounding them. Steven then tells you about the underwater cavern between Mossdeep and Sootopolis. Head there.

  Travel to the seafloor cavern using your new dive technique. You'll find the entrance near the path to Ever Grande City. Make your way through the cavern until you reach a character called Archie, who will challenge you to battle.

  Defeat Archie to see Kyogre leave the caverns. Some cutscenes will follow as your character leaves the caverns and learns about Grouden and Kyogre both being free in the world.

  Travel left when you regain control of your character; continue until you reach some rocks. Then travel upward until a path to the left comes in view. Follow this path until Sootopolis City becomes visible. Keep moving around it in a clockwise direction to reach the bottom of the city, then use the dive ability. Save your game --- the fight between Groudon and Kyogre only takes place once. When you surface after the dive, you will witness the battle.
