How to Fill a Yellow Pokedex

Pokemon Yellow was released for the Game Boy in 1996. At the start of the game, you are given a Pokedex. This device records all of the Pokemon you catch and displays such information as the sound they make, their location and height and weight information. There are 151 Pokemon to find in Pokemon Yellow, and to fill your Pokedex you must capture each of them. There are multiple ways to accomplish this.

  Capture Pokemon in their various habitats. Pokemon can be found in the tall grass on the various routes and in caves, and they can be caught using the fishing pole. Different Pokemon live in different areas, so visit each area in the game, capturing all available Pokemon.

  Defeat the elite four at the end of the Pokemon Yellow story mode to unlock the legendary Pokemon. These four legendary Pokemon only show up once the story has been completed. They are Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres and Mewtwo.

  Trade with your friends who have "Pokemon Red" or "Pokemon Blue." There are 11 Pokemon that can only be obtained via trade. They are Weedle, Kakuna, Beedrill, Magmar, Ekans, Arbok, Weezing, Koffing, Meowth, Persian and Jynx.
