How to Get a Cascade Badge

"Pokemon LeafGreen" and "Pokemon FireRed" were both released in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance. You need to defeat eight different gym leaders to earn their gym badges during the course of these games. These badges allow your Pokemon to use special moves out of battle, such as "Cut" or "Strength." The Cascade Badge is held by Misty, the gym leader of Cerulean City. She uses all water Pokemon and will be the second gym leader you fight. Once Misty is defeated, the Cascade Badge will be yours, allowing you to perform "Cut" outside of battle.

Instructions

    • 1

Travel to Cerulean City after you have obtained the first badge from Brock at the Pewter City Gym.

    • 2

Use electric- or grass-type Pokemon. Water Pokemon are very weak to electric attacks, and water attacks are not very effective against grass Pokemon. Since Misty and the other two trainers in the gym only use water Pokemon with water-based attacks, you'll always have the upper hand.

    • 3

Buy items that increase your Pokemon's health from the Poke Mart in Cerulean City and bring them to the battle. Items such as "Potion" will increase your Pokemon's health in the middle of a fight.

    • 4

Leave the gym and heal at the Pokecenter if your Pokemon are injured. You have to fight two trainers, Male Swimmer and Jr. Trainer, before you fight Misty. However, you are allowed to leave and come back after each fight, so take advantage of this by healing your Pokemon at the Pokecenter and saving your health items for the battle with Misty.

    • 5

Bring six Pokemon, the maximum, to the battle with Misty. Misty only uses two Pokemon, so the more electric- and grass-type Pokemon you bring, the better chance you have of winning this battle.
