How to Make Your Egg Hatch Faster in Pokemon: Sapphire

Eggs were introduced in the second generation of Pokemon games. They are created by breeding two compatible Pokemon at the Day Care Center, and occupy a slot in the player's party once received. The number of steps needed to hatch an egg depends on the Pokemon contained within. For example, a Bulbasaur egg takes 5,120 steps to hatch, while an Eevee egg takes 8,960 steps to hatch. In "Pokemon: Sapphire," there are several methods to make eggs hatch faster.

Instructions

  Place a Pokemon with either the Flame Body or Magma Armor ability in your party to cut the requisite steps needed to hatch in half. Qualifying Pokemon are Slugma, Magcargo, Camerupt, Magby and Magmar.

  Defeat Wattson in the Mauville Gym to obtain the Dynamo Badge. Enter the Bike Shop and talk to the owner to receive the Mach Bike, an item that more than doubles foot speed.

  Equip the Mach Bike and ride it back and forth across a clear stretch of road such as Cycling Road or the area surrounding Mauville City. A message will appear just before the egg hatches.
