How to Make a New Map in Advance Map

Advance Map is a specialized map making software that allows users to create their own maps. The custom maps can then be imported and used in your favorite Gameboy Advance games. To make a new map, you might require several hours of work to design the layout of your map. Once you have designed the map, you must set a warp connection so your players can access your map through a point on an existing map.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Map Advance program and then open any map by selecting a map from the list at the left hand side of the screen. Then open a new map by selecting the "New Map" option from the toolbar at the top right of the screen. Set the name and size of your new map in the window that pops up and then select "Create."

    • 2

Design your map. This can take several hours depending on the detail you want to include.

    • 3

Select "Insert Map" from the toolbar once you have completed your map. Select the header position you want your map to be in and then choose an offset. It doesn't matter which offset you select, but take note of the number for later use. Select "Create and Insert" to save the changes.

    • 4

Choose the last tab at the top of your map screen. Now you can name your map, choose music, and select other details such as the weather.

    • 5

Set the warp connections for your map so you can access it in your game. Choose the map you want to link to and write down the bank number and warp number. Combine these two numbers, so if your bank number was 2.2 and the warp number was 2, you would use 222 as your warp number.

Save your map and test to make sure the warp connections work properly.
