How to Get Mewtwo in Pokemon Silver Without GameShark

Released in 2000, "Pokemon Silver" is a video game for the Game Boy Color. The game follows a Pokemon trainer named Ash Kechum as he travels around the world to catch every single Pokemon that has ever existed. Mewtwo is the 150th Pokemon in the Pokemon world. If you have "Pokemon Silver," the only way to obtain a Mewtwo without a GameShark is to trade with another user who has a Pokemon game and Game Boy Color. Trading only requires two Game Boy Color devices, a link cable and a Pokemon you are willing to trade for a Mewtwo.

Instructions

  Connect your Game Boy Color with a friend or family member with another Game Boy Color, using a cable link. Connect one end of the link cable to the connector on the left side of the Game Boy Color's body. Connect the other end of the link cable to the other player's Game Boy Color.

  Visit the Pokemon Center and visit the receptionist on the right side of the center. This is the Cable Club Center, the place that allows you to trade Pokemon with other Game Boy Color users. Both players should talk to the receptionist on their respective devices and select "Trade Center" from the menu. Both Game Boy Color devices will save game progress and initiate a link.

  Select Mewtwo from the menu. After initiating a link, your screen will showcase a menu with the other user's Pokemon. Highlight Mewtwo and select "Trade." The other user will then select a Pokemon from your party. After you've agreed, a trade will start. Do not remove the link cable during the trading process. Once the trade is complete, you will find yourself in the Pokemon Center once again. "Pokemon Silver" will automally save its progress. Turn off both of the Game Boy Color devices and remove the link cable. Once you power on your Game Boy Color, you will have Mewtwo in your Pokemon party.
