How to Get Mew in Pokemon Emerald Without Game Shark

Capturing a Mew in "Pokemon Emerald" without the use of a Game Shark or other cheating device is a difficult endeavor. This creature is highly sought after due to its ability to learn any TM or HM move in the game, and its relation to the genetic freak Mewtwo. Unfortunately for Pokemon Trainers worldwide, this monster is not available to players without a special item directly downloaded from Nintendo. Mew is hiding on a tiny, tropical uncharted island in "Pokemon Emerald," but you cannot meet it unless you find a map to sail there.

     Obtain the "Old Sea Map" item from a Nintendo sponsored event. Regularly check the official Pokemon homepage for dates of upcoming item and Pokemon giveaways.

     Take the map to the S.S. Tidal Port in Lilycove city. Talk to the woman standing beside the boat to be transported to World's Edge Island.

     Walk through the jungle to the north end of the island to encounter a level 30 Mew. Chase it through the long grass to a dead end location to engage it in battle. Lower its health and capture it in a Pokeball.
