How to Get a Shieldon From Fossils in Pokemon Pearl

In "Pokemon Pearl" the shieldon Pokemon can only be resurrected from a fossil. This rock/steel-type Pokemon has good defense, but is weak from attacks from behind. It is a good choice against Pokemon using normal-, flying- and poison-type moves. However, it takes extra damage from fighting, ground and water attacks. Shieldon is only available in "Pokemon Pearl" and "Pokemon Platinum." If you have another version of the game, you'll have to trade with someone.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "X" button to open your items bag. Select the Explorer Kit to go to the Underground area.

    • 2

Check the map for treasure. It appears as sparkling areas on the map. Use the stylus to mark the digging area, then press "A" to dig once you arrive.

    • 3

Tap the stylus repeatedly to collapse walls or dig up items. This will randomly result in a fossil. Pick up the fossil by pressing the "X" button and selecting the "Treasures" command.

    • 4

Press "X" again to bring up the menu, then select "Go up" to return to the surface.

    • 5

Go to Oreburgh City and enter the Mining Museum. Give the fossil to the curator inside. Leave the museum and return, and he will give you a Shieldon.
