How to Catch Lugia Easy on Pokemon Gold Version

Lugia is a legendary psychic and flying-type Pokemon that made its debut in the second generation installments of games. In "Pokemon Gold," Lugia is found in the Whirl Islands at Level 70. Like any legendary Pokemon, it is difficult to capture. Players must bring a strong Pokemon, a large supply of ultra and heavy balls, and complete a few prerequisite tasks to have a chance at getting Lugia.

Instructions

- 1
  Defeat the Elite Four and the Pokemon League Champion. Go to Pewter City, head southeast, and speak with the old man to obtain a Silver Feather.

  Bring at least one high-level Pokemon, preferably one with a sleep or paralysis-inflicting move. Fly to Cianwood City and Surf east to reach the Whirl Islands. Head to the northeast island and enter the cave.

  Go northeast and climb the ladder. Follow the path and climb the next ladder.

  Go south and enter the cave. Lugia is hiding there. Surf to reach Lugia and save the game. Engage Lugia in battle.

  Lower Lugia's hit points as much as possible without knocking it out. Use "false swipe" to lower its hit points to one. Inflict it with sleep, freeze, or paralysis attacks, then throw ultra balls or heavy balls until Lugia is caught.
