How to Catch Raikou in Pokemon: Crystal

"Pokemon: Crystal Version," together with "Gold Version" and "Silver Version," opened up a new world to Pokemon game fans. These titles were an upgrade on Generation I games with more Pokemon, a larger world and the ability for Pokemon to hold various helpful items. The games also introduced a multitude of new legendary Pokemon, including three elemental dogs. Raikou, as well as its fellow canine, roam the Johto region, and the only way to catch Raikou is track it down and catch it quickly.

Instructions

  Travel to Ecruteak City.

  Enter the Burned Tower and encounter Raikou, Entei and Suicene. They will run off to roam Johto.

  Ensure you have a Master Ball or a Pokemon with the Mean Look ability before hunting Raikou. If you aren't using your Master Ball, stock up on Ultra Balls.

  Leave Ecruteak City and go to the nearest patch of grass. Walk for about 20 paces and move to the next patch of grass if you don't encounter Raikou. Continue this method until you encounter Raikou.

  Use the Master Ball to catch Raikou. If you have already used your Master Ball or wish to save it for another Pokemon, use Mean Look to stop Raikou from running. Lower its health and paralyze or put it to sleep if you have the abilities to do so. Throw Ultra Balls until you have captured Raikou.
