Pokemon Hack: How to Make a Johto Pokemon Evolve in Fire Red

"Pokemon LeafGreen" and "Pokemon FireRed" were two games released at the same time in 2004 for the GameBoy Color. With the exception of certain Pokemon found in each game, the two are congruent in features, story and game play. In "FireRed," the world you live in is called Johto, and making a Pokemon evolve is as simple as allowing it to level up.

  Press "Start" and select "Pkmn." Change the Pokemon you want to evolve to the first position.

  Walk around in tall grass until the screen flashes. This means a wild Pokemon is about to fight you.

  Use your Pokemon's attacks to defeat the wild Pokemon. If you notice your Pokemon's health is getting low, heal it or switch it out for another Pokemon. Pokemon that faint do not get experience, even if you win the battle in the end.

  Keep battling as your Pokemon evolves. At some point, your Pokemon will evolve automatically. The level at which this occurs varies with each Pokemon.
