Travel to Kanalet Castle. Give the monkey found there bananas to build a bridge leading north. Travel three screens north to the phone booth, and then one screen left. Cut down the bush here to reveal a secret staircase. Go down the stairs and travel to the left to another ladder that exits the underground area. Exit here, go right, and then down. Defeat the jumping knight located here to get the first golden leaf.
Move downward one screen, left twice and finally up. The area contains some rocks lying around and a crow sitting in a tree. Throw one of the rocks at the tree, and then attack the crow as it tries to flee. The defeated crow will yield the second golden leaf.
Enter the castle by traveling down, and then right. Move one screen to the left once inside the castle to encounter a group of enemies. Defeat all of the enemies to receive the third golden leaf.
Move up, and then right to reach a room with a switch and a ladder. Stand on the switch to open the front gate. Climb the ladder and move left to find stairs leading to the next floor. Walk left to find a room with statues. Use a bomb to destroy the statue to the left, and then defeat the enemy that appears to get the fourth golden leaf.
Walk right and explore until you reach the balcony. Travel right from the balcony and pick up a pot. Throw the pot at the door, and then go up to encounter another enemy. Defeat the enemy to acquire the fifth and final leaf.
