How to Start Over on Pokemon DS Games

The "Pokemon" games released for the DS ("Diamond," "Pearl," "HeartGold," and "SoulSilver") allow one save file per game cart. If you are playing one of these games and wish to start your game over, it's easy enough to do by creating a new save file. However, you will lose all of the elements from your original game save file.

     Access the main menu for the "Pokemon" game you have in progress. Select the "New Game" option in the main menu.

     Select the "Yes" option to confirm your choice and begin a new game.

     Save the new game at any time. This will save the new game file over the old one.
