Instructions for Game Boy Advance SP

Nintendo's Game Boy Advance SP represents the pinnacle of development in the line of Game Boy handheld game systems. It is compatible with all previous Game Boy system game cartridges, including original Game Boy and Game Boy Color; it also will link to as many as three other Game Boy Advance or Game Boy Advance SP systems for multiplayer gaming. It incorporates many features offering improvements over previous Game Boy systems. It is simple to use, and its operation requires only a few basic steps.

Instructions

  1. Charging the Battery Pack

    • 1

Hold the GBA as if you were going to play. Flip open the screen. Make sure the power switch on the right side is set to "Off."

    • 2

Turn the system around. Plug the GBA end of the AC adapter/charger into Extension Port 2 -- the rectangular port -- and plug the other end into any standard wall outlet. A light on the same surface as the controls should begin to glow.

    • 3

Allow an empty battery to charge for about three hours. The light will turn off when the GBA is fully charged. When the light goes off, disconnect the AC adapter/charger.

Inserting a Cartridge and Playing a Game
