Zelda Games for Game Boy Color

The Legend of Zelda series is one of the most beloved gaming franchises in history. The game's protagonist, Link, has graced every major Nintendo console over the last 20 years, from the Nintendo Entertainment System to the Wii. With over a dozen installments in the series, gamers have plenty of options to choose from to get their Zelda fix, including three games for the Game Boy Color.
  1. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX

    • "Link's Awakening DX" is a color version of the 1993 original Game Boy classic "Link's Awakening." It takes place after "A Link to the Past" and follows Link as he continues his training. Along the way, a storm destroys Link's boat and strands him on Koholint Island. After a series of events, a mysterious owl informs Link that the only way to return home is to awaken the guardian of Koholint, who is asleep inside a giant egg. Exclusive to the remake are compatibility with the Game Boy Printer and an exclusive dungeon not found in the original.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons

    • "The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons" is one of two games in a Legend of Zelda series exclusive to the Game Boy Color (the other is "Oracle of Ages"). "Oracle of Seasons" begins with the Triforce calling out to Link from inside Hyrule Castle. As Link approaches the Triforce, he is transported to a dark forest and encounters a traveling group. Its leader, Din, converses with Link, but is suddenly kidnapped by a general named Onox, who uses Din's power to use the forces of nature for evil. It's up to Link to restore order. The game is similar to "Link's Awakening" in that it has an overhead perspective. However, this game is much more colorful and action-oriented.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages

    • "The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages" begins the same way as "Oracle of Seasons" does. However, Link is transported to a forest in the land of Labrynna, where he helps a woman find a singer in the forest. Once found, a sorceress named Veran possesses the singer and travels 400 years into the past to change certain aspects of the land to her benefit. Once again, Link must save the day. "Oracle of Ages" focuses on solving puzzles, and has less action than "Oracle of Seasons."
