How to Get a Fly on Pokemon Blue

The Fly ability is a Hidden Machine (HM) skill that you can find in Pokemon Blue. You can teach the Fly HM to your flying-type Pokemon who can use this skill as an attack in battle. It can also be used outside of battle to quickly fly your character back to any city that you have already visited. To get the Fly HM, you must already have the Cut HM ability that allows you to clear paths by cutting down trees.

     Travel to Route 16, west of Celadon City.

     Cut down the tree outside of the bath house. This will clear the path to the blocked gatehouse.

     Pass through the gatehouse and continue west. You will see a house on the other side.

     Enter the house and talk to the woman. She will give you the Fly HM.

   • 5

     Use the Fly HM from your backpack on a flying-type Pokemon to teach them the Fly ability.
