How to Find a Very Strong Electric Pokemon for the Gold Version

Purchase Pokéballs from the Pokémart. Use Great Balls or Ultra Balls to catch electric Pokémon.

Set out to routes six, 11, 38 and 39 to find a Magneton. Magneton, an electric and steel-type Pokémon, can be found by traveling through the grass. Magneton's special attack is extremely high at 120. Fight Magneton and drain its hit points (HP) to catch it with a Pokéball.

Go to route 10 to find an Electabuzz. Electabuzz can be found by traveling through the grass. Electabuzz's special attack and physical attack are extremely high at 95 and 83, respectively. Use ground-type moves to lower the Electabuzz's HP and catch it with a Pokéball.

Surf to routes 26 and 27, New Bark Town, Olivine City, Pallet Town, Union Cave or Vermilion City to find a Lanturn. Press "A" while you are near water in these cities, and use the directional pad to search for Lanturn, who has a high special attack at 76. Use grass-type moves to lower Lanturn's HP and catch it with a Pokéball.

Use the directional pad to travel through the grass on routes 42 and 43 to find a Flaaffy. Flaaffy has a high special-attack rating and will evolve into an Ampharos at level 30. An Ampharos has a special attack rating of 115. Use ground-type moves to lower Flaaffy's HP and catch it with a Pokéball.
