How to Get the Pokemon Cyndaquil in the Pokemon Emerald Version for GBA

The fire-type Pokemon Cyndaquil is one of the three starters given to you by Professor Elm in the Generation II "Pokemon" games: "Gold Version," "Silver Version" and "Crystal Version." While "Pokemon" Emerald Version" has a different set of starters, it's possible to get Cyndaquil anyway---though it requires a lot of time and work. To get Cyndaquil, you must complete the Hoenn Pokedex.

Instructions

  Obtain the 200 different Pokemon in the Hoenn Pokedex. Catch Pokemon and evolve them, referring to a guide if you're unsure of where a Pokemon is located or how it is evolved. This doesn't include the legendary Pokemon Deoxys and Jirachi, obtained only through a special Nintendo event.

  Return to Littleroot Town, your hometown and the place where you started the game. Flying using a Pokemon with the move "FLY" is the quickest way to get there.

  Go to Professor Birch's lab and talk to the Professor.

  Choose the Pokeball on the left side of the table. It will display a picture of Cyndaquil and ask you to confirm that this is the Pokemon you want. Select "Yes," and Cyndaquil is yours.
