How to Get to Island Eight on Pokemon Fire Red

"Pokemon FireRed" for the Game Boy Advance SP is a rerelease of the first Pokemon game, "Pokemon Red." As an added bonus to hard-core Pokemon fans, the developers of "FireRed" introduced a new side story that takes place on nine islands. Islands one through seven are accessible by completing the main story. To get to the eighth island, you will need an Action Replay or GameShark device or to attend an official Pokemon event. Once you gain access to the eighth island, you can catch the hidden Pokemon, Ho-Oh.

  Use a GameShark cartridge. Put your "FireRed" cartridge into the GameShark and place the GameShark cartridge into the Game Boy Advance. On the GameShark main screen, choose "Add New Game." Name the game "Pokemon FireRed" then choose "Add New Code." Enter the following: "7400013000FE," "830050940301," "7400013000FE," "83005108E80D," "7400013000FE," "8300510A0807," "7400013000FE," "8300510CFE01," "7400013000FE," "8300510E0000," "7400013000FE," "830051100002," "7400013000FE," "830051120001," "7400013000FE" and "82031DBC0002." Click "Save" and then start your game. Press pause then press "L," "R" and "A." You will automatically transfer to the eighth island.

  Go to a Pokemon Video Game Championship Series event. Several are held throughout the world (see References for a link to a schedule). At all of these events, a Nintendo representative will transfer a Vermilion City ferry into your "FireRed" game. Use the mystic ticket at the Vermilion City ferry to get to the eighth island.

  Use your Action Replay (AR). Connect the AR to your Game Boy Advance and place the "FireRed" cartridge into the AR. On the AR menu, press the green asterisk then select "Add New Code." Enter the following: "0E12F25C," "BC489609," "141BB87C," "83D7018F," "7A063220," "5D82DF58," "2782EFCA" and "4EED1397." Save the code and start your game. During gameplay, enter any Pokemart (the place where you purchase items) and purchase the mystic ticket for free. Go to the Vermilion City ferry and ride to the eighth island.
