How to Catch a Suicune in Pokemon FireRed

Suicune is a wolf-like legendary water Pokemon in the FireRed Version. To unlock Suicune, you must choose Charmander as your starter Pokemon, defeat the Elite Four and obtain the National Pokedex. Suicune is difficult to capture because it moves from location to location throughout the game and attempts to run from each encounter. Tracking and capturing this Pokemon requires patience, time and many Ultra Balls.

Instructions

- 1
  Encounter Suicune once to place the entry into your Pokedex. Suicune can be found only in grassy areas in Kanto. You also can trade your friends for a Suicune at the Coliseum, then trade back. This will place the entry into your Pokedex.

  Stock up on Ultra Balls. You may need more than one to capture the Suicune.

  Use the Pokedex̵7;s location function to track and find the Suicune.

  Engage in battle with the Suicune.

  Use a high level Pokemon such as Haunter or Golbat that has the ability ̶0;Mean Look.̶1; This will prevent Suicune from running away at the start of the battle.

  Continue to battle the Suicune. This may require numerous encounters. Use status effects such as sleep and paralyze to keep it from running away until its HP is low enough for capture.

  Throw Ultra Balls to attempt to capture it. This may take time, patience and many Ultra Balls.
