How to Catch Regirock in Sapphire

In 2002, Nintendo released the third generation of Pokemon games, which included Pokemon Sapphire. As in other Pokemon titles, in Sapphire you travel from town to town, pitting trained Pokemon against wild versions--in an attempt to capture new pets. In Sapphire, there are three particularly elusive specimens known as the "Regi" Pokemon. One of these is "Regirock," and capturing him requires careful preparation and planning.

Instructions

- 1
  Fly to Mauville City and enter the nearby desert. Walk to the bottom-right corner to find an ancient tomb.

  Enter the tomb and examine the Braille inscription at the back of the room. It reads, "Right, right, down, down, then use strength."

  Step two times to the right and two times downward. Use strength to initiate the battle with Regirock.

  Attack Regirock with Pokemon of the following types: Steel, Ice, Grass, Ground, Water, and Fighting. The goal is to lower Regirock's hit points until only five percent remains.
  
  Alternatively, use a Level 50 Relicanth to put Regirock to sleep after two turns.

  Throw a Great Ball to obtain Regirock. If the Great Ball doesn't work, you may need to restart your Game Boy and fight Regirock again.
  
  Repeat the steps until Regirock is yours.
