How to Get Squirtle in Pokemon Yellow

In Pokemon Yellow, the fourth game in the Pokemon series, you battle against trainers at gyms in various cities. Extra items and Pokemon like Squirtle may be acquired--after you successfully complete specific battles.

Instructions

- 1
  Make it to the gym in Vermilion City and defeat the trainers who use electric-type Pokemon. Defeat the first three trainers and then locate two switches in the trash cans of the gym.

  Go through the doors at the end of the gym after getting the two switches and you'll encounter gym leader Lt. Surge. Use electric moves, such as thunderbolts, with Pikachu or Raichu.

  Collect the Thunder Badge and the TM24 ball after you defeat Lt. Surge. Leave the gym and then head over to the center of Vermilion City to talk to Officer Jenny.

  Press the "A" button on your Game Boy to talk to Officer Jenny. Press the "A" button to continue the conversation.

  Press the "Start" button and then select the "Items" option by pressing the "A" button. Select the Thunder Badge to show to Officer Jenny. After she sees your badge you will receive Squirtle.
