Dragonballz Games for Gameboy

Dragon Ball Z is a Japanese manga series created in 1984, written and illustrated by Akira Toriyama. The Game Boy franchise is a handheld video game device developed and manufactured by Nintendo. The original model named "Game Boy" was released in 1989 and has been followed by multiple redesigns since it's inception, including "Game Boy Pocket," "Game Boy Color," "Game Boy Advance," "Game Boy Advance SP" and most recently "Game Boy Micro," released in 2005. Numerous Dragon Ball Z games have been released for the different Game Boy formats throughout the years.
  1. Dragon Ball Z releases for Game Boy and Game Boy Pocket

    • Dragon Ball Z has been a popular game since the early 90s.

      The Game Boy and Game Boy Pocket handheld video game devices both featured a black and white LCD screen, four buttons and a directional pad. Both played the same size game cartridges. Nintendo released two Dragon Ball Z games for the original Game Boy and Game Boy Pocket devices. "Dragon Ball Z: Goku Hishouden" was released in 1994 and "Dragon Ball Z 2: Goku Gekitouden" was released in 1995.

    Dragon Ball Z releases for Game Boy Color

    • Only one Dragon Ball Z game was released for Game Boy Color.

      Game Boy Color was the first major redesign for the Game Boy franchise and was released in 1998. This version of the Game Boy introduced a slightly larger color LCD screen, among other upgrades. Nintendo released Game Boy Color game cartridges that could not be played on the original Game Boy and Game Boy Pocket devices. The Game Boy Color, however, could play original Game Boy game cartridges. Nintendo released one Dragon Ball Z game for the Game Boy Color device. "Dragon Ball Z: Legendary Super Warriors" was released in 2002.

    Dragon Ball Z releases for Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP

    • Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP have released multiple Dragon Ball Z titles.

      The Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP, released in 2001 and 2003, were the second major redesign for the Game Boy franchise. These versions of the Game Boy introduced a new device shape, two additional buttons, better graphics and a backlit screen (on the SP). The Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP introduced smaller game cartridges, but could still play the previous Game Boy cartridges, "Dragon Ball Z: Collectible Card Game" and "Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku" were released in 2002. "Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku II" was released in 2003. "Dragon Ball Z: Taiketsu," "Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure" and "Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury" were released in 2004. "Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors" and "Dragon Ball GT: Transformation" were released in 2005.
