Monster Rancher Advance 2 Hints

Monster Rancher Advance 2 is from a series of video games made by Tecmo. It is playable only on the Game Boy Advance. In Monster Rancher Advance 2, the player takes control of a monster rancher that raises monsters and then enters them in battle to win money and other rewards.
  1. Stats

    • When training a monster, a lot of players think the best strategy is to make a well-rounded monster and work on all of their skills equally. It is actually better for a monster to be great at a few skills than it is to be good at all of them. Work on just three skills. Try to max those skills out and don't worry as much about the rest. Power is always a good skill to upgrade first. Sometimes a young monster will miss when he attacks, but with a high power rating, the monster will only need to hit an opponent a few times to win on the lowest level.

    Making Money

    • Any time a rancher needs money, he or she should make a money maker monster. Normally, once a monster has defeated the Grade F tournament, the rancher will move it up to Grade E, then Grade D and so on. As the monster gets more training, it will be able to progress to higher levels. For a money-making monster, the rancher should leave it fighting in Grade F and Grade E tournaments, even when he is strong enough to go higher. These fights will be extremely easy, the monster should win every tournament and the monster rancher will gain a lot of money.

    Age

    • Just like an athlete in a sport, a monster has an age that is considered his prime and that is when you should see how well the monster does in battle. When the monster rancher's assistant, Holly, says that a monster is maturing, that is a sign that the monster is about to start their prime. When a monster starts getting 10 points for successful training, it is at the very peak of its prime. When Holly informs the monster rancher that the monster is getting old and should think about retiring, that means the monster's prime is over. It isn't necessary to retire the monster at that point; the monster could live another year or maybe a little bit longer but it will no longer be in its prime, and losing battles will damage the monster badly.

    Training

    • When training a monster, a good strategy is to train on the even-numbered weeks and rest on the odd-numbered weeks. For example: in week 1 the monster rests, then week 2 the monster trains, then in week 3 the monster rests, in week 4 the monster trains, and so on. By rotating between resting and training each week, the monster won't get worn out. There are two different types of training, light training and heavy training. Never use the heavy training until the monster is in its prime years. When a player is ready to send the monster to battle, do it on one of the weeks that would normally be used for training.
