How To Catch Mew in Pokemon Blue Version

Mew is capable of learning any TM and HM in the game, meaning it can be used in a variety of ways. It is possibly most useful as a special sweeper, but with base stats of 100 in all categories it can be used for almost anything. To get a Mew in Pokemon Blue, you will also need a copy of Pokemon Emerald.

Instructions

  Beat the Elite Four in Emerald and save your game.

  Go to Faraway Island, which is outside of Hoenn.

  Go into the forest and Mew will begin to play hide and seek with you.

  Corner Mew and it will battle you. Mew is level 30 so make sure your pokemon are of a high enough level to handle it.

  Catch Mew and trade it to your copy of Pokemon Blue. To trade pokemon you'll need a second Game Boy and a connector cable. Once you're connected you can go to the Trading Center in any Pokemon Center to trade Mew from one game to the other.
