How to Evolve Rhydon

Pokemon is a game for the Nintendo hand-held system where the objective is to collect pocket monsters, train them and fight other Pokemon trainers to become the Pokemon Master. Evolving your Pokemon is the key to success, enabling stronger powers and techniques for defeating other Pokemon. Rhydon is a special case---in order to get its final evolution it must be traded with an item. Here are the steps to evolve your Rhydon.

  Get the Protector item. This can be found in Route 228 in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl or on Iron Island in the Pokemon Platinum version. It can also be found inside Mystery Gifts, which are redeemed for 12,000 Poke Coupons in Pokemon Battle Revolution.

  Equip your Rhydon with the Protector item. This is critical item for it to wear---without it the Rhydon cannot evolve into Rhyperior.

  Go to the basement of the Pokemon Center and talk to one of the ladies at the left counter. When she asks if you would like to connect for trade say "Yes," and you will be prompted to save.

  Find your friend through the trade screen. They will be listed as a blue name near the top of the list if they are registered in your Pal Pad. Invite them and select "Trade" to begin the process.

  Choose your Rhydon equipped with the Protector item. When the Rhydon has been traded into your friend's Pokemon game, it will evolve into Rhyperior. Trade back to return it to your collection.
