Things You'll Need
Instructions
Here is a list of the most common major problems that can afflict the Game Boy Advance SP: screen problems, system problems (power/battery, sound or other operating problems), game problems or accessory problems.
Prioritize. If there is more than one issue, decide which one will receive your attention first.
If you notice cracks on your screen, lines running through it during use or excessive scratches, stop troubleshooting. Send in the device for repairs. These issues are beyond your expertise.
If the device fails to power on, it may be time to replace the battery. If the sound is weak or non-existent, listen to the device through the main speaker, try a new set of headphones or adjust the volume slider.
Make sure your game is fully inserted and that the system connection is free of foreign objects. Try other games to determine whether it's a particular game or the entire system that is failing.
Read the troubleshooting guide for your Game Boy Advance SP. For further assistance, locate the operating manual that came with your system or visit the official Nintendo Web site.
