Wasps And Spiders
When you encounter a wasp -- which is a floating mechanical machine equipped with guns -- use your shotgun to destroy it. One direct shot should destroy a wasp. When you encounter a spider -- which is a machine shaped like a spider -- toss a pipe bomb at it. One pipe bomb alone should destroy it. You can also toss a grenade at either the spider's head or the red dot located on its head. One grenade will take it down and save you ammunition.
The T-600
The T-600, which looks similar to the T-800 but with less fake skin, can be quickly killed by tossing two or three pipe bombs directly at its head. The pipe bombs will take down the T-600, or reveal a critical target on it. A critical target is represented by a blue light. If the blue light appears, take aim at it and either shoot it or toss another pipe bomb toward it to kill the T-600. However, this tactic works best if the T-600 is stationary. If it is moving around, it will become more difficult to hit.
Taking Cover
The key to surviving "Terminator: Salvation" is to take cover often. When cover is available, you will be prompted to press a button and will then automatically take cover. The "take cover" button varies depending on which version of the game you have. Try to position yourself behind your robotic enemies so you can destroy their exposed power cells. Throughout the game, you will have AI allies. Take cover next to them and they will fire at your machine enemies. Wait for your AI allies to distract the machines and then kill the machines from behind.
The Glitch
During the last level of "Terminator: Salvation" you will encounter a staircase which offers cover up top. Though it might be tempting to take cover, do not. According to Cheatcodes.com, taking cover at the top of the stairs may cause a glitch within the game to occur. The glitch will cause the game to pause for a while, or freeze altogether, forcing you to start over. Instead, find the staircase that leads downward and continue your fight against the machines.
