How to Get Cheats to Work on VBA

Entering codes into the Visual Boy Advance (VBA) game emulator is an incredibly easy process that requires only a few clicks to complete. This easy process can become quite the headache if the codes you entered don't activate right away. Fortunately, troubleshooting the VBA for shoddy cheat codes is a simple task that doesn't take much time to complete. You don't need any extra software to do it, and it works no matter what games or codes you use.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the cheats menu and select the option labeled "Cheats List."

    • 2

Check to see if your cheat codes have been activated. Entering a cheat code into your VBA does not automatically activate it - you must click on the box next to the code to turn it on.

    • 3

Enter the game's master code. A master code must be entered and activated for all games for you to use other cheat codes for that game.

    • 4

Double check the codes you entered and the cheat devices you selected. If you entered GameShark codes, but selected the GameGenie option, the codes will not work.

    • 5

Reinstall your VBA if you still cannot get your VBA to recognize the cheat codes.
