How to Use a Mad Catz GameShark

The Mad Catz company makes hardware for many popular video game systems. Using the Mad Catz GameShark, you can enter codes to add special cheats to video games saved on your video game system's memory card; the GameShark disc does not include its own video games. Popular codes to choose from include invincibility, unlimited supplies and level skipping. Each video game has a specific set of cheats, and some are exotic, allowing you to walk through walls and fly.

Instructions

  Insert the video game controller into Port 1 on your video game console, then insert a memory card into Memory Card Slot 1. Plug a USB memory device into any USB card slot on the console.

  Turn on the power for the game console, press the "Eject" button to open the disc tray and insert the GameShark disc into the disc tray. Press the "Eject" button to close the tray. Press the "Restart" button on the console. The GameShark disc then loads on its own.

  Press the "Cross" button on the remote to skip the intro movie. Use the code book to find the codes for your video game. Insert the letters for each code you want activated by navigating the on-screen keyboard using the directional pad on the system's remote.

  Select "Enter" from the on-screen keyboard and return to the main menu. Select "Start Game" to play the game with your code activated.
