How to Complete the Chain Reaction Cheat in GTA IV

The "Chain Reaction" achievement in GTA 4 is challenging to achieve. The achievement requires the main character (Niko) to blow up 10 cars within 10 seconds, which can only be done by finding a cluster of cars and igniting an explosive that sets off a chain reaction where one car's explosion sets off the next -- much like a domino effect. This is an enjoyable task to watch unfold in your game when done successfully.

Instructions

- 1
  Find a cluster of at least 10 cars. The achievement only requires 10 cars, but your odds are improved with a higher number of cars. Pick a location where the cars are close together, since the explosion from each car needs to reach the next car.

  Arm Niko with the grenade. The grenade is accurate, causes a powerful explosion, and allows you enough distance to be safe from the explosion.

  Press the "L2" button to aim where you are going to throw the grenade and press "R2" to throw your weapon. Make sure there are no people or objects between you and your target. Aim for the center of the car cluster so the chain reaction can spread in both directions. Throw a couple more grenades at both ends of the car cluster after throwing the first for good measure.
