The 100 feathers are well disguised and hidden throughout each of the cities in the game, except the final city, Rome, where there are none. Upon arriving in each city, press "Start" and locate on the map each of the visible viewpoints. In gameplay, the viewpoints are located on top of towers or other high structures. Each viewpoint is represented by an eagle's roost. The eagle will fly away once the viewpoint is reached, signifying its location. Once all viewpoints in a city have been synchronized, that city becomes open for exploration on the map and in gameplay.
Start at the entrance to any city and search for feathers by climbing on top of houses and walls. Begin near the entrance and work in a circle around the city. Avoid city guardsmen while exploring. If spotted, the guards will alert other guards and begin shooting arrows. Feathers are generally found on top of high buildings, on window sills, clotheslines, construction beams and cranes, and chimneys.
Because the feathers are typically camouflaged, turn on Eagle Vision to more easily spot them. Without Eagle Vision, the feathers sparkle but they are nearly translucent. Eagle Vision darkens the background, helping the translucent feathers stand out.
After collecting some feathers in any given city, press "Start" and select the option for "DNA." Scroll down the helix to the "Secondary Memories" and select the subheading "Feathers." This section keeps a running, up-to-date toll of all collected feathers. Inside the the section is a breakdown of how many feathers have been collected in each specific city: Florence, Monteriggioni, Tuscany, Romagna/Forli and Venice.
