Action Replay XBox Problems

Codejunkies' Action Replay device for the Microsoft Xbox allows you to access secret and hard-to-reach areas in your Xbox games by altering your games' save data. The device plugs into your Xbox console just like a regular memory card unit. Because it is an unauthorized third-party device, Action Replay can be prone to errors. The device has several common problems, all of which you can fix with a little troubleshooting.

Instructions

    • 1

Reload your Action Replay drivers. If Action Replay is not communicating with the PC you use to manage your device, you won't be able to load the device with new save-games. Reinstall the device by disconnecting it from your computer and inserting the CD packaged with your Action Replay and then clicking "Install." If you're using Windows Vista, right-click "Install" and choose "Run as Administrator" to ensure the program installs correctly.

Download and install the latest version of the Action Replay software from the Codejunkies website. Outdated software may be incompatible with newer games, later revisions to your computer's operating system or XBox's firmware. Download the file and double-click it to update your Action Replay software. If you have uninstalled your software, reinstall it before running the update.

Delete nonworking game saves and replace them with save files downloaded from the CodeJunkies database using the Save Manager software. Many save files available online are created by fellow users who may save them incorrectly or in such a way that they can't be accessed outside of that user's game profile. Use only save files created by CodeJunkies and downloaded using the software included with the device.
