How to Get the Message in the Bottle at the Bottom of Lake Hylia in Zelda

"The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" is a fantasy action-adventure game first released in 1998. At the beginning of the game, you'll see a bottle at the bottom of Lake Hylia, but you won't be able to dive deep enough to reach it. By traveling to Zora's Domain and beating a simple mini-game, you'll get an item that increases your diving stamina from three seconds to six seconds. This will allow you to reach the bottled message at the bottom of the lake.

Instructions

    • 1

Collect 20 Rupees by smashing pots with your sword or by slashing tall grass areas.

    • 2

Leave Kakariko Village and enter the Hyrulian Field. Head left and jump into the river. Swim forward until you reach the next patch of grass and you'll enter the Zora's River section of Zora's Domain.

    • 3

Work your way upriver by using the chickens to help you cross the river. When you come to a section with two overlapping paths, stand on the stone portion of the path and use the Ocarina to play "Zelda's Lullaby." The waterfall will open up, allowing you to enter Zora's Domain.

    • 4

Go up the stairs to the king and head left. Talk to the Zora there and pay him 20 rupees to begin a short diving mini-game. Collect all the submersed rupees to win the Silver Scale, which allows you to breathe underwater for six seconds instead of three.

    • 5

Dive down into the underwater hole, which brings you out to Lake Hylia.

    • 6

Dive to the bottom of the lake to collect the bottled message.
