How to Get Action Replay Codes on a R4 Chip

Download the Codejunkies Action Replay DS code management software from the site in Resources. Double-click to unzip and open "Setup.exe" to install the software to your computer.

Open the code management software from the "Codejunkies" section of your computer's Start Menu.

Right-click "Codejunkies US Games" in the upper right-hand panel of the window and click "Copy." Right-click the "My Codelists" window in the lower right-hand panel of the window and choose "Paste."

Download the R4 DS cheat code editor from the site in Resources. Double-click the download to unzip, then open the "exe" file within to run the editor. Connect your R4's MicroSD card to the USB port of your computer using the cartridge's MicroSD reader.

Open the "File" menu of the editor and choose "Import." Navigate to the following file on your computer and double-click it to import:

"C:\Program Files\Datel\Action Replay Code Manager\local_codelists\customcodelist.xml"

Open the "File" menu of the editor program and choose "Save as Database." Navigate to the system directory of your MicroSD card and save the database as "usrcheat.dat."

Disconnect the R4 DS MicroSD card from your computer and connect it to your cartridge. Insert the cartridge into your Nintendo DS and turn the system on, then select "R4 DS" from the system menu.

Choose "ROM" to browse the list of games stored on your R4 DS. When you reach the game you wish to use cheats for, press "Y" to bring up the cheat menu. Use your stylus to highlight the cheats you wish to use, then press "Start" to begin play with cheats activated.
