How to Enter Codes in Action Replay DS

The Action Replay for Nintendo DS can be difficult to understand. It is also worrisome that if you make any mistakes handling the cheats and loading them to your DS, it can easily freeze your game system and make it unplayable. If you want to upload your own codes to your DS using Action Replay, you must be particularly careful and follow the steps exactly or else you may find yourself in need of a new Nintendo DS.

  • Nintendo DS
  • Action Replay software disk

Instructions

    • 1

      Insert the Action Replay into your DS.

      Plug the Action Replay DS into the computer using the provided USB cable.

      Install the Action Replay software on your computer using the disk provided. The installation wizard will automatically start when you insert the disk. The software you are installing is the Action Replay DS "Code Manager."

      Open the Code Manager and click the "Software Upgrade" button at the top-right corner of the window.

      Select "Yes" when the pop-up confirming the action appears. Allow the computer to install the new software.

      Click the icon that resembles paper with a plus sign on it next to "My Codelists."

      Drag and drop the games you want to add codes for from the "My Subscriptions" or "Nintendo DS" to "My Codelists" under "Custom Codelists."

      Right-click one of the games you added and select "Add new cheat."

      Add a cheat name and the cheat code or codes in the new window that appears and click "OK."

      Drag and drop the game from "My Codelists" to the "Nintendo DS" section.

      Click "OK" when a pop-up warning you of a duplicate file appears, and click "Yes" when asked if you want to overwrite the original file.

      Wait for the file to sync with your Nintendo DS.

      Repeat the same steps for other games, and close out of the Code Manager when you are done.
