Open your computer's "Add/Remove Programs" menu by opening the Control Panel and selecting "Add/Remove Programs." In some versions of Windows, this panel is located in the "Programs and Features" submenu.
Select "Action Replay Code Manager Software" and click "Remove." When the software has finished uninstalling, restart your computer.
Insert the Action Replay install CD into the CD drive of your computer and allow the automatic installation program to re-install "Action Replay Code Manager Software." Do not remove the CD after the software is installed.
Run "Action Replay Code Manager Software" from the desktop shortcut or Start Menu.
Click the "Software Upgrade" button in the top right-hand corner of the window (the program's icon is a pink Nintendo DS cartridge) to download the latest Action Replay code files. When the progress bar indicates the download is complete, click again to download the latest firmware for the device.
Connect your Action Replay DS to your computer using the USB cable. Insert the cartridge into your Nintendo DS and turn on the DS.
Click "Ok" to install drivers from the Action Replay installation CD to your computer.
Tap the "Mouse" icon on the screen of your Nintendo DS to sync Action Replay DS with your computer. Wait for the progress bar displayed on your Nintendo DS to turn green.
Right-click the small green arrow in the bottom right-hand corner of your PC's screen to open the "Safely eject and remove hardware" dialogue. Double-click "Action Replay DS" to remove the hardware, which should now work with your PC and Nintendo DS games.
