The Kelp Forest

• The object of SpongeBob: Battle for Bikini Bottom is to collect all 100 Golden Spatulas; eight of them are hidden in the Kelp Forest. There are also seven of Patrick's socks to find. Finding all of Patrick's socks will earn you Golden Spatulas. The Kelp Forest can be a lot of fun, but it can also be challenging. It is probably the most challenging level in the game due to all the twists and turns and the split second timing needed for many jumps.

Cheat Codes for Nintendo Game Cube

• If you become stuck in the Kelp Forest, don't get frustrated. There are some cheat codes that will make things a little easier for you. Before entering the code, you must pause the game. After pausing, while holding down the L and R button, press the below combinations to perform the listed tasks:

  X,Y,Y,X,X,Y,Y,X: Provides you with 10 Golden Spatulas
  X,X,X,X,Y,X,Y,X,Y,Y,Y: Gives SpongeBob maximum health.
  Y,Y,Y,Y,Y,X,Y,X,X,X,Y,Y: Allows villagers to give SpongeBob added health

• If you have the PS 2 version, the codes are a bit different. You will still need to pause the game to execute the codes. After pausing, while holding down the L1, L2, R1 and R2 buttons, press the below combination to perform the listed tasks: (Please note, C= circle and SQ = square)

Defeating Mermaid Man

• One of the main challenges in the Kelp Forest is to beat Mermaid Man's time on the Kelp Vines. The Kelp Vines is the most challenging slide in the game because it is narrow and tight. To find the hidden sock, do the following: after you reach the first checkpoint, you will wind to the right on the path. Look to your left and you will see a large brown leaf. Jump onto the leaf, which will vault you to a higher slide. Continue on the higher slide until you see Patrick's sock. After getting the sock, you will be able to continue down the Kelp Vines. If you are able to beat Mermaid Man's time, you will earn a Golden Spatula. If not, you will need to go back to the top and try again.

Finding the Lost Campers

• Another tough challenge is earning a Golden Spatula from Mrs. Puff. In order to earn that Golden Spatula, you will need to find six lost campers. Mrs. Puff is located after the second checkpoint. There are three areas where you will need to go in order to find the campers, the Kelp Forest, Kelp Swamp and Kelp Caves. In the Kelp Forest, look for the first camper to the right of the porta-potty. The next camper is hiding on the mountain overlooking the waterfall. The third is on the mountain overlooking the flat land. After finding the first three campers, go to the Kelp Swamp. In the Kelp Swamp there will be two campers, one on each far side of the swamp. The next place to look is the Kelp Caves, where the last camper is located on the ledge just before you enter the final cave. You must go up the steps to find this camper. After you find all six, go back to Mrs. Puff to collect the Golden Spatula.
