Real Final Boss
In a game that features numerous cameos, you can end "Mega Man Network Transmission" with a secret final boss with another cameo -- Bass. You must collect all the Navi chips and head to the first global area. Instead of stepping on the immediate warp, jump to a secret ledge on the northeast side. You will find a green warp portal, where Bass is waiting inside for you to fight.
Jump by Sliding
Double-jump chips are usually a necessity to reach far places, but you can use the slide technique to reach some of those spots. Just press the slide button and let go of all the buttons, and as soon as Mega Man comes out of his slide, press the jump button. You will be able to jump even if you are over open air.
Upgrade Weapons First
As you gain power-ups, make sure the first things you upgrade are Mega Man's Attack and Charge attributes. You will save a lot of time and damage by being able to defeat enemies with one blast, especially ones that come at you in rapid fashion. Otherwise, even if you upgrade other categories, your blaster will still take several shots to defeat enemies.
Know Each Boss's Elements
Nothing will swing the fight one way or another faster than having a certain element equipped for defense or your blaster. If you are approaching a boss who you know has a certain element, equip a weapon that is strong against that element, and you will do twice as much damage. Conversely, don't wear an element that is weak, or you will get massacred.
