Harvest Moon on GameCube
The first "Harvest Moon" title for the GameCube was released in 2004 and titled "Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life." This is a basic farm and life simulation with your character having to raise crops and animals while interacting with townspeople. A sequel, "Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life," was released in 2005. This entry allows you to play as a girl and follows her life as she manages her farm. The third title is "Harvest Moon: Magical Melody." It was released in 2006 and features similar gameplay to the others but also tasks you with saving the Harvest Goddess by collecting musical notes.
Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life
One trick for "A Wonderful Life" is to purchase a ball, some blocks or a wooden car from Van, the item merchant. If you place these on the shelf in the tool room, you can then purchase more from Van. Keep putting them on your tool shelf to eventually amass 99 of each item. Also, you can place any S-rank seed in the second slot of your Tartan and place a B-rank tree in the first slot. Use Tartan and your tree will be upgraded for free. If it is raining and you want it to stop, simply enter and exit the mine. This will cause the rain to cease.
Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life
While playing "Another Wonderful Life," simply plug a GameCube controller in the third player controller slot. You can even unplug the controller you are using and use it for this. Press the "Z" button on the third player controller and your character will be gifted with a random assortment of items and will be given 99 copies of all tools. You can also unlock a pet cat by befriending the Romana character during Chapter 2. He'll give you a cat at a later morning when you wake up. You can get ducks by buying a pond from Takakura and waking up during Chapter 2's summer.
Harvest Moon: Magical Melody
This "Harvest Moon" game is full of unlockable shops that will populate your town as you progress through the game. Ship one load of good clay to unlock the Clay Shop. This will also make the character Saibara move into your village. Shipping ores will grant you access to a blacksmith. Wait one month after meeting Carl and Eve, and a new cafe will move into town. If you ship 30 herbs and befriend the Alex character, you will unlock the sanatorium.
