Mewtwo made his "Super Smash Bros." debut in "Super Smash Bros. Melee" for the GameCube as an unlockable character. You can also play "Super Smash Bros. Melee" for the Wii by using GameCube controllers. The fastest way to unlock Mewtwo is by playing 20 hours of versus matches, but the 20 hours is divided amongst how many people are playing, so you would only need to complete five hours of versus matches with four players to unlock Mewtwo.

Connect four GameCube controllers to your Nintendo GameCube or Wii.

Insert the "Super Smash Bros. Melee" disc into the GameCube or Wii.

Click "VS. Mode."

Select a character for each controller, and click "Start."

Leave the game on five hours, then come back and finish the match. Mewtwo will appear.

Defeat Mewtwo one time, and he will become a playable character.
