Unlock Tracks

• "Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2" is divided into multiple areas, each with multiple tracks. Players must first rack up certain point levels while playing to unlock many of these areas. You can unlock the Coastal Parklands area tracks by reaching 1,000 points. Players unlock all four Alpine Trails area tracks by getting to 10,000 points on each one. To get every track in the Island Outskirts area, players must reach a total of 20,000 points. Reaching 50,000 points unlocks all of the Wine Country area tracks. Both the Autumn Crossing and Tropical Sunset tracks are unlocked once players accumulate 60,000 points.

American Cars

• Many American cars are not available at the start of "Hot Pursuit 2." You can unlock them by achieving specific point totals. Once unlocked, these cars are available from the menu to race at any track in the game. Gamers who total 5,000 points unlock the Ford TS50. To get the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, players must rack up 10,000 points. Players also unlock the Dodge Viper GTS when they tally 10,000 total points.

Imported Cars

• Several imported cars also are hidden in "Hot Pursuit 2" until players accumulate specific point totals. Players get the Mercedes CL55 AMG when they reach 5,000 points. The Porsche 911 Turbo and Ferrari 360 Spider becomes available when players tally 10,000 points. The Lamborghini Diablo is available when players reach 30,000 points. Getting to the 30,000 point plateau also unlocks the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, the Porsche Carrera GT, and the Lamborghini Murchielargo. At the 80,000 point level, gamers unlock the Ferrari F50 and the McLaren F1. To unlock the McLaren F1 LM and the Mercedes CLK GTR, players must rack up 85,000 points.

New Levels

• New levels that do not initially appear in "Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2" are unlocked when players clear competitions in Championship Events. Players unlock the National Forest level by winning the first Championship Event. Players get the Outback level by beating Championship Event 11. To unlock the Alpine Trail level, players must first win Championship Event 22. Players unlock the Rocky Canyons stage by beating Championship Event 27. The Palm City Island level is unlocked when players win Championship Event 28. To get the Tropical Circuit level, players must beat Championship Event 29.
